Friendo App by Kaka Ji
When we started working on FRIENDO, we knew this was not a normal app project. FRIENDO is a personal safety app built with one clear purpose: to always be there when users need it the most.
What made this project even more intense was the fact that the app is owned by Kaka Ji, a well-known Punjabi singer with millions of followers on Instagram and subscribers on YouTube. Because of his public image and massive audience, expectations were naturally very high. Every decision โ design, flow, performance, and security โ was under extra scrutiny.
This time we were not just developing mobile app. We were building trust, reliability, and a system that must work when panic is real and time is limited. The pressure was real, but so was the responsibility.
โThis is more than a FRIENDO case study. Itโs the story of how Kaka Jiโs influence and Triple Mindsโ product thinking came together to build a platform that genuinely promotes humanity.โ
Kaka Jiโs Vision Behind FRIENDO App
In 2012, the Nirbhaya Delhi gang rape case deeply shook the entire nation. Like millions of others, Kaka Ji was personally affected and disturbed by what happened. Years later, in 2025, when the Pune bus depot rape incident came into the news, those emotions resurfaced again โ stronger than before.
That moment became a turning point.
On the same day, Kaka Ji decided that it was time to do something concrete and meaningful in this direction. Not just discussions, not just awareness โ but a real solution that could help people when they are actually stuck in a dangerous or helpless situation.
The thought was simple and powerful:
If someone is in trouble โ whether itโs a woman, an elderly person, or anyone at all โ they should be able to call for help instantly, from anywhere, without complexity or fear.
With this clear intent, Kaka Ji shared the idea of a Personal Safety App with us at Triple Minds.
We took this responsibility seriously. Our team spent time researching existing safety apps, real-life emergency scenarios, and user behavior during panic situations. We planned how the app should work, what features truly matter in emergencies, and how the experience should remain simple even under stress.
After detailed planning, we presented the first prototype to Kaka Ji and his team. The idea and execution were appreciated in the very first presentation, which gave us strong confidence that we were moving in the right direction.
Even while writing this case study, our work on FRIENDO continues. We are actively improving upcoming features, refining UI/UX, and strengthening the overall experience โ because a safety app is never โdone.โ It must keep evolving to serve people better.
Challenges & Pressure Behind Developing FRIENDO
Working on FRIENDO came with a level of pressure that most app projects never face. This was not only because it was a personal safety app, but also because it was backed by Kaka Ji, a public figure with millions of followers. When someone with such reach launches a product, every decision is amplified, and every mistake can impact trust at scale.
Responsibility Beyond Technology
A safety app must work perfectly during emergencies. No delay, no confusion, and no failure is acceptable because even a small issue can put lives at risk.
Public Trust & Reputation Pressure
Since FRIENDO is linked with Kaka Ji, users expected reliability from day one. The app had to feel trusted, stable, and ready to use instantly.
Misuse, False Alerts & Safety Balance
The challenge was to allow fast help without misuse. False alerts or pranks could harm trust and put real helpers in danger, so balance was critical.
Emotional Pressure on the Team
FRIENDO is not a normal app. Every decision involved real-life danger scenarios. For Triple Minds, this was a social responsibility, not just work.
Core Features of the FRIENDO App Designed for Real Emergencies
High Alert Emergency Trigger
Users can trigger a high alert in life-threatening situations. Nearby FRIENDO users, emergency contacts, and the system are instantly notified to act fast.
Request Help Feature
In non-critical situations, users can request help from nearby people. It allows safe, quick assistance without creating panic or triggering full emergency alerts.
Live Location Sharing
Once an alert is triggered, the userโs live location is shared automatically. This helps helpers and contacts reach the person quickly without confusion.
Emergency Contact Notifications
FRIENDO sends instant notifications to saved emergency contacts via SMS and future WhatsApp support, keeping family informed during critical moments.
User Profile, Age & Karma Score
The app shows basic profile details like age and karma score. This builds trust and helps users decide whom to help or trust during emergencies.
Volunteer & Management Monitoring
FRIENDO keeps volunteers, helpers, and management connected. Both sidesโ emergency contacts are informed, adding safety, transparency, and accountability.

Story Behind the Name FRIENDO
While we were busy building the FRIENDO app, Kaka Ji gave us another responsibility that turned out to be surprisingly intense โ deciding the name and logo. Honestly, this was one of the most challenging parts of the entire journey.
Kaka Ji was very clear and very strict about what he wanted. The name had to be easy to write, easy to remember, and the moment someone heard it, it should feel trustworthy. More importantly, it had to solve the purpose of the app โ safety, help, and humanity.
So this wasnโt just a creative exercise. It was branding, psychology, usability, and long-term vision โ all rolled into one decision.
At Triple Minds, we explored dozens of ideas and finally presented a strong shortlist to Kaka Ji and his team. Some of the names we proposed were: Humanity, Assistly, Humanize, Bondwise, Connecto, Civilized, Harmony โ and FRIENDO.
Each name sounded good on paper. But FRIENDO had something extra. It felt warm, approachable, and human.
It didnโt sound like an app. It sounded like someone you could trust. Someone you could call in trouble. Thatโs when the decision became obvious.
FRIENDO checked every box โ simple, memorable, purpose-driven, and emotionally strong. It wasnโt just a name anymore. It became the identity of the app and the emotion behind it. And thatโs how FRIENDO was born โ not from a branding trend, but from a deep need to make help feel personal, friendly, and reliable.
